Family Preservation Update: What We Heard and What We’re Doing

Family Preservation Update: What We Heard and What We’re Doing

Earlier this week, 98 people from across NSW joined our Family Preservation Network Session Debrief. You shared what’s on your minds, and we’re making sure those messages are heard.

Here’s what you told us matters most:

  • Understanding contract values, funding distribution, and delivery costs.
  • Clarity about how services will be structured in each district.
  • Recognising the unique challenges for regional and remote providers.
  • Minimising disruption for families and the workforce.

We’ve taken this feedback straight to DCJ by attending the Family Preservation Peaks Consultation Group and will continue to advocate.

Next Steps

  • The most important thing you can do now is make sure you are registered with Procurement Central to receive briefings and updates.
  • We’re pushing for clear answers, transparent timelines, and practical support, especially for smaller organisations.
  • Fams will be involved in the implementation components of the funding approach. Members of our Family Preservation Network and your input will be pivotal.

The network meets regularly and is facilitated by Daniel Wong – Director, Policy & Practice. You can reach out to Daniel through [email protected].
