About the Project
What are the Child Safe Standards?
The Child Safe Standards provide a framework for creating organisations that protect children from harm. Their goal is to encourage a cultural shift that supports and maintains practices that keep children safe.
By using these Standards, organisations work to create a setting where child abuse is prevented, dealt with, and reported. These Standards are based on research and findings from the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
What does the project involve?
We are partnering with the Office of the Children’s Guardian and a dedicated group of services to delve into the Standards. In this working group, we are:
- Looking at the Standards and talking about how to embed them effectively
- Discussing and sharing best practice examples from the group
- Reviewing tools, templates, and resources that are currently available or could be helpful
- Developing resources and information to support our sector in applying the Standards, among other things.
