‘Every Conversation Matters’ so that every child in every community can have a fair go.
This year’s theme focuses on the transformative power of conversations. We know change happens when we start talking, when we share our challenges, and when we work together to find solutions.
At Fams, we’re here for you this week and every week having conversations that matter.
This includes things like:
- Our ongoing Sector Conversation series which remains a vital platform for crucial discussions, with a current spotlight on recommissioning. If you’ve missed any, they’re there for you on our YouTube channel
- Involvement in alliances and working groups such as CaFSA
- Submissions, media releases and panel discussions
- Ensuring that early intervention and prevention are central to all discussions, like during the NSW Drug Summit
Every conversation matters also means speaking up and speaking together. That’s why we’ll continue to stand alongside AbSec and their call for the establishment of an Independent Commission and appointment of a Commissioner for Aboriginal Children and Young People.
We want to take a moment to acknowledge our peers in the sector who tirelessly work with children and families facing complex challenges, often with limited resources. Thank you for the support you give every day so that children can thrive, families are stronger, and communities are supported.
We encourage you to head to NAPCAN’s website. They’re hosting webinars and sharing resources for Child Protection Week. So, get involved and let’s keep the conversation going.
