A Domestic and Family Violence leave entitlement is now enshrined in the National Employment Standards (NES). Organisations and businesses with 15 or more employees are now required to provide 10 days paid leave for permanent, part time and casual workers.
This leave can be used to:
- make arrangements for safety (including relocation)
- attend court hearings
- access police services
- attend counselling
- attend appointments with medical, financial, or legal professionals
- attend family therapy, support or school appointments
Lisa, our Sector Engagement Officer, was thrilled to witness this monumental shift in protecting women and children.
