Fams talks with Shadow Minister Kate Washington, MP

Today Fams CEO Susan Watson and Sector Engagement Manager Kim Stace had the opportunity to hear the Opposition Leader’s response to the NSW Budget and meet with Kate Washington MP, Shadow Minister for Family and Community Services.

We discussed issues affecting members, including funding resources for the sector, and challenges with data and reporting.

Fams has agreed to another meeting with the Shadow Minister after the Fams Roadshow, to discuss our key election asks.

The Shadow Minister is committed to the Targeted Early Intervention (TEI) sector. She understands the important role our member organisations play in supporting NSW children to thrive within safe, strong and supportive families and communities.

We really enjoyed our conversation with the Shadow Minister and look forward to a productive partnership going forward.
