Last week our CEO, Susan and Sector Engagement Manager, Lauren, met with Shana Quayle, Acting CEO at the Aboriginal Health & Medical Research Council of NSW (AH&MRC).
They discussed the opportunities, as Peak bodies with shared values, to work in genuine partnership on Closing the Gap.
Facilitating the potential adaption of Big Yarns, the evidence-based supported playgroup enhancement program successfully operating in Victoria, for the NSW Aboriginal families was high on the agenda.
“It was wonderful to meet with Shana, and we look forward to progressing our partnership to reduce the significant overrepresentation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in the child protection system,” said Susan.
