Fams attended AbSec’s Quarterly Sector Forum last week. The two days involved in depth discussions around Aboriginal-led children and family research, community-led restoration, and carer support and training.
The panel discussion emphasised the influence and functions an Aboriginal Commissioner should have in order to positively impact the re-design of the child protection and out-of-home care system in NSW.
Fams is always grateful to be a part of these essential conversations. We will continue to work in genuine partnership as allies to address the overrepresentation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in the child protection system.
