Our CEO, Susan, attended the two-day AbSec Conference, Healing our Sector.
There were discussions on strategies for involving Aboriginal youth, families and communities in developing services, focusing on healing and systemic change.
The conference highlighted that we must stop trying to fix a ‘broken system’, listen to our communities, and rethink the way we work.
“The sometimes confronting and robust discussions have pushed and inspired me to be stronger in our advocacy for change”, Susan says.
“It’s time to significantly reinvest in early intervention and prevention, prioritising Aboriginal children and families”.
