Share your recruitment process and help the sector

Share your recruitment process and help the sector

Are you funded under the NSW Permanency Support Program (PSP), Intensive Therapeutic Care (ITC) or Targeted Early Intervention (TEI) program?

Are you willing to share relevant documents from your recruitment and onboarding process as part of a new Workforce Skills Strategy?

Fams is working with The Association of Children’s Welfare Agencies (ACWA), the Aboriginal Child, Family and Community Care State Secretariat (AbSec) and the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) on a vital strategy to help organisations respond to the challenges of child and family work.

The goal is to build an effective workforce for the NSW Permanency Support Program (PSP), Intensive Therapeutic Care (ITC) and Targeted Early Intervention (TEI) programs.

The project consortium is asking organisations funded under PSP, ITC and TEI to email Prof. Amy Conley Wright and the research team their:

• Job advertisements
• Position descriptions
• Recruitment assessment criteria, including qualification requirements
• Onboarding protocols including induction programs and training.

This information will be analysed and aggregated. No identifying information about organisations will be noted in the report.

By sharing these documents, you will contribute to building understanding of the current workforce needs for the PSP, ITC and TEI programs.

These materials are required by Monday 4 July, 2022.

The strategy was developed by the Research Centre for Children and Families at The University of Sydney and consortium partners Charles Sturt University, Curijo, Da’Vange, and Parenting Research Centre.

The project is carried out in three stages:

1) Building the case for change – involving synthesis of existing data, conducting a survey, and integrating components from project consortium to develop a discussion paper;
2) Consultations with the sector, young people, family members and carers; and
3) Workforce Skills Strategy Blueprint development and launch.

Thank you for your valuable contribution to this important project!
