Supporting Good Settlement Outcomes for Multicultural Young People

Multicultural Youth Affairs Network (MYAN) NSW will host two interactive sessions which explore the National Youth Settlement Framework.

The framework is an evidence-based national guide to good practice for working with young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds.

By attending this training, participants will explore:

  • Culture and identity and its role in youth settlement
  • Pre-settlement experiences of young people
  • Factors impacting good settlement, and
  • Strategies to support good settlement outcomes through case studies and small group activities.

This training is designed to assist the sector to build skills and knowledge to support young people to reach their potential as active citizens in Australian society.

This is a valuable professional development and networking opportunity for workers from a variety of sectors including youth, settlement, health and government who currently engage with or are looking to improve engagement with young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds.

NOTE: The training costs $80 and is delivered over two half-day sessions on 14 and 21 October from 9:30am to 1:00pm each day. Participants must attend both sessions.
