New ACMS Report – FACSIAR Evidence to Action Note

New ACMS Report – FACSIAR Evidence to Action Note

The Australian Childhood Maltreatment Study (ACMS) provides the first nationally representative data on the prevalence and effects of child maltreatment in Australia.

A new FACSIAR report has been released in line with the ACMS, with data relevant to young people in NSW.

Nearly two in three participants (62.2%) in this population-based study reported that they had experienced at least one form of abuse or neglect before they were 18 years old.

DCJ mentions that the report provides opportunities to inform policy and practice and provides resources for caseworkers working with young people.
