Yesterday, Susan met with Briana Jurgeit, Director, Family Preservation and Child Protection at DCJ. Together they discussed Fams’ brief to the Minister on the redesign of the Family Preservation Framework.
Susan and Briana discussed the sector’s hope and enthusiasm about the redesign of Family Preservation and the positive impacts that potential changes could have on the children and families they support.
“It was a very productive meeting where we considered the insights from the perspective of those who understand family preservation best; the people that work with these families every day to ensure the safety and well-being of children,” Susan said.
Fams looks forward to reviewing the redesign draft with Briana and her team. We are committed to working together with DCJ to build a stronger, more responsive, child and family centred system to reduce child maltreatment and do all that we can to keep children safe and together with family.
