As recommissioning continues, Fams recently hosted a Sector Conversation to hear directly from our sector, so we can advocate with clarity and strength.
More than 60 participants came together for this meaningful conversation, a powerful reminder that we’re not alone in this work, and that Fams is here to connect and strengthen our sector.
Some services felt their work was recognised and that changes to service numbers were achievable. Others raised concerns that need attention.
What we heard from you
Here are the key challenges raised:
- Inconsistencies in negotiations and questions about genuine collaboration
 - Variable experiences with CPOs, uncertainty about what to bring to first meetings, and short timeframes
 - Budget template concerns, including corporate costs, executive salary disclosure, and covering true costs
 - Funding adequacy as many services are worried about whether funding reflects the work

Fams will continue to advocate for a recommissioning process that is fair and values your work. We await responses to questions raised by our sector from DCJ.
