New Community Sector Agreement now in effect

New Community Sector Agreement now in effect

The new Community Sector Agreement (CSA) is now active for new community services contracts and procurements in NSW.

Following consultation with the sector, the CSA Standard Terms and Schedule replace the former Agreement for Funding of Services and introduce a number of changes across areas including performance and outcomes, funding, privacy, contract extensions and reporting.

One practical change is the notice period for contract extensions, which has increased from 30 days to 60 days, giving organisations more time to plan and prepare.

Other changes include updated processes around performance and outcome measures, revised timeframes for repayment of unspent funds and outstanding reporting, and clarified requirements across areas such as privacy, conflicts of interest and security breaches.

DCJ has released the Standard Terms, DCJ Schedule, a table of changes and information guides for both new and existing providers to support organisations through implementation.

Program areas will contact organisations directly about the proposed approach to implementation in line with commissioning requirements.
