It’s been a busy few weeks for policy and advocacy at Fams, as we continue to contribute to important discussions and reforms affecting children, young people and families across NSW.
This week, Fams CEO Susan Watson and Policy and Practice Director Daniel Wong attended the NSW Parliament’s inquiry into the Human Rights Bill 2025.
The inquiry provided an opportunity to examine how stronger human rights protections could improve outcomes for children, young people and families, particularly those experiencing vulnerability or disadvantage.
Our advocacy has also featured in discussions through the NSW Youth Justice Inquiry, while we’ve recently submitted our response to the Closing the Gap inquiry, with further policy submissions underway.
We’re also working alongside fellow peak bodies to progress shared advocacy priorities and strengthen the sector’s voice in policy and reform.
There’s plenty happening behind the scenes, and we look forward to sharing more as this work progresses.
