For many people experiencing domestic and family violence, the first professional they speak to won’t necessarily be a DFV specialist.
That’s why this new free foundational training is designed specifically for the broader workforce.
Delivered by Lifeline Australia, Understand, Recognise, Respond: Foundations in Domestic and Family Violence Practice provides practical, NSW-specific guidance to help professionals recognise concerns, respond appropriately and connect people with the right support.
It’s relevant for people working across education, social work, community and family support, disability support, financial counselling and other roles where DFV may be identified.
Training will be available online and face-to-face, with 100 workshops across NSW beginning from 14 September 2026.
