With tender outcomes publicly announced, Fams and our Peak partners continue to advocate for clarity and transparency. Our goal is to ensure the sector is informed and supported.
Our Response
With our Peak partners, AbSec and ACWA, we hold deep concerns about:
- the risk arising from the wind-down and closure of programs without sufficient attention to the service gap that will occur during this transition.
- the current level of funding for programs not representing a genuine increase compared to the previous funding period.
We have written a joint letter to the Secretary of DCJ raising these concerns and the need for greater mitigation strategies.
We are in the early stages of developing a joint session with our partners and welcome your feedback about how Fams can best support you throughout the transition period.
Sign up to Fams’ Family Preservation Network to receive your invitation to our joint session, or contact [email protected]
Local Transition Groups
Local Transition Groups will be established soon and will meet on a fortnightly basis. These groups will occur on a a 3-weekly basis via MS Teams.
- Attendance is voluntary but strongly encouraged.
- These groups are intended to support workforce transition, assist with planning for the transfer of families and discuss emerging risks.
- To participate in these groups, your organisation will need to send through the names and email addresses of 2 representatives by Friday 3 April to [email protected].
- Nominated representatives should have oversight of staffing matters and the details of the current and future contracts.
