Review of the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012
We’ve been engaging with services and our Child Safe Standards Working Group as we shape our advocacy for the review. Across these discussions, the Group emphasised that a strong Working with Children Check system is only one part of embedding the Child Safe Standards and supporting the cultural shift needed to truly prioritise children’s safety in all settings.
Our submission will outline recommendations on how WWCCs can better contribute to this change. We’ll share it with you soon.
The OCG is continuing to run consultations, and you can find more information about how to get involved here.
Consultation on the Review of the Agreement for Funding of Services
DCJ have been reviewing the terms of the Agreement used to fund human services. The review process has been generally positive with proposed changes reflecting improvements across the Agreement.
We continue to advocate for changes around consistency and better terms and conditions for service providers.
