The SCHADS Award, which covers things like pay and clear role classifications for our sector, is being reviewed.
Late last year, the Fair Work Commission released a revised Alternative Award Structure, and the proposed changes affect most of us.
The Alternative Structure is a significant improvement.
In particular it includes:
- better protection of current rates of pay and paypoints by increasing the number of levels and paypoints across the structure
- clauses that improve recognition of industry and lived experience.
Fams is currently drafting our submission, and we encourage you to share your views to ensure the award remains fair and fit for purpose.
