How We Do This
Children and family’s safety, health and wellbeing are at the heart of all our work. We recognise that families come in many forms, and not all are biologically based. Our work is guided by principles that shape how we plan, deliver services, manage relationships, and advocate for change:
- Children and families should be safe.
 - Support should be flexible and responsive to each family’s needs
 - Services work best when they’re embedded in local communities
 - Practice should be informed by evidence and research
 - Identity matters. Social, cultural, racial and linguistic identities must be affirmed and strengthened
 - Trust and respect are the foundation of strong relationships between families and services

Fams is proud to be child-safe champions. We strive to make sure child safety is at the heart of everything we do. We work alongside communities and services to protect children’s rights, prevent harm, and create safe spaces where all children can grow strong and feel heard.
