Most Family Preservation contracts have been extended for three months, and DCJ has now released the Family Preservation Transition Plan.
This extension gives everyone more time and certainty before the next stage of commissioning. Most contracts now run until 30 June 2026.
What’s in the Transition Plan?
- Key dates for the transition period and procurement outcomes
- Information for capacity targets during this transition period
- Regular online briefings to keep you informed
- Guiding principles, including a focus on workforce retention (as recommended by ASU)
- Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) available for small service providers
- DCJ will start contract variations for affected providers in the new year.
What’s Fams doing?
Fams, alongside our fellow peaks – ACWA and AbSec – are collaboratively advocating for our sector and the families they work with. Our priority remains on a transition that is transparent, fair, and focused on outcomes for children, families, and communities.
Your input has been critical in shaping this outcome. We’ll continue to keep you updated as more information becomes available.
