Budget Estimates have officially begun, and Fams is actively monitoring the hearings to advocate for funding and policy settings that reflect the impact of your work.
At the Families and Communities hearing, we spoke with several key decision-makers, including Minister Kate Washington, who spoke candidly about the TEI and FCS (CFS) recommissioning process. She assured us that services will be recommissioned with “minimal disruption.”
Fams’ Director, Policy and Practice, Daniel Wong, also attended the hearing and shared this reflection: “Much of the conversation so far has focused on out-of-home care and system reform. However, there are further opportunities to showcase the needs of our sector and highlight the value of early intervention and prevention services.”
We’ll continue to keep you updated on our advocacy. In the meantime, you can follow us on social media to see who we’re meeting with.
